Harvard Pilgrim Purchases One of the Nation's Premier RIsk and Care Management Firms
Wellesley, MA - February 3, 2014 - Harvard Pilgrim Health Care announced that it has acquired Florida-based MedWatch, a company offering care management services to third party administrators and self-insured employers nationwide.
MedWatch is an accredited medical management firm covering over 94,000 members nationwide. Founded in 1988 by Lynn Jennings and Judy Garber, MedWatch works closely with its clients to deliver innovative and cuttingedge solutions for managing health care expenditures. MedWatch’s cost containment services range from wellness and early detection programs to case management of complex and chronic conditions.
The company’s case, disease and utilization management programs are all accredited by the Utilization Review Accreditation Commission (URAC). Additionally, MedWatch has developed comprehensive care management software over the past 25 years that allows clinicians to access consolidated patient records aggregated from all lab, pharmaceutical and claims data to activity, clinical and outcomes data.
